Grown in New Zealand Pulses are the dried seeds of pod-bearing plants of the Legumiosae family. They are rich in protein, iron, calcium and B vitamins. They are high in fibre, but contain virtually no fat, making them the nutritionists' dream food. Soak split peas overnight, then rinse and cook for approximately one hour. Very suitable for adding to soups or making vegetable purees. In dry conditions they can be stored for years without loosing its high quality. |
